LinkedIn Thursday, 8/13/2026URL: https://lnkd.in/p/eEKazf45We’re all getting access to AI.We’re just not all getting the same amount.
We’ve proven that AI increases performance on specific tasks. It absolutely can’t replace expertise.
Now the capability around that expertise has a meter.
→ 93% of enterprises surveyed exceeded their AI budgets. (McKinsey, May 2026)
→ A single “super agent” can consume up to 356M tokens per user each year. (Deloitte, April 2026)
More compute doesn’t automatically create more value.
But access to better models, more context, and deeper workflows changes what we can do.
That makes AI allocation a leadership decision.
We need to allocate it against the economic value and risk of the work, not title or department. And definitely not who has the strongest budget owner.
Otherwise, the people with the most political capital get the most capability.
That isn’t a technology problem. It’s our old org chart with a token meter.
